Definition and Usage

The QUARTER() function returns the quarter portion of a date value (a number from 1 to 4).

  • January-March will return 1
  • April-June will return 2
  • July-Sep will return 3
  • Oct-Dec will return 4

Syntax

QUARTER(date)

Parameter Values

Parameter Description
date Required. The date or datetime value from which to extract the quarter
