The Singularity Is Nearer: When We Merge with AI is an upcoming 2024 non-fiction book by futurist Ray Kurzweil.[1] It is the sequel to his 2005 bestseller book The Singularity Is Near.[2] The book was initially scheduled to be released in 2021,[3] was then delayed to 2022[4] and is now scheduled for release in June 2024.[5]

In an interview with societyforscience and sciencenews, Kurzweil said that the book will contain a chapter "[...] that shows [...] how dramatically every aspect of human life has improved over the decades and over the centuries".[6][7]
